‘Do not Bother Guessing. You’re Not Going to Guess Proper’ — Tim Cain, One of the Creators of the Original Fallout, Has Rejoined Xbox Studio Obsidian to Work on a Mystery Project

Tim Cain, one of the creators of the authentic Fallout online game, has rejoined Xbox studio Obsidian Leisure to work on a thriller challenge.

In a video published on his YouTube channel (which he is used to inform a lot of enjoyable tales about the making of the first Fallout recreation), Cain stated he was now a full-time member of workers at Obsidian, final seen releasing The Outer Worlds 2, Grounded 2, and Avowed. This implies he’s not a contractor anymore, and so just isn’t working at different studios, though there may be a recreation set to come out sooner or later in the future that may have his title on it.

Cain wouldn’t say something about the challenge he’s joined Obsidian to work on, and advised followers not to even trouble guessing what it’s.

“I can also’t speak about the challenge I’m working on at Obsidian, simply because that’s coated below NDA,” he stated. “Don’t trouble guessing. You’re not going to guess proper. I’d say that I’m in all probability a lot much less retired now than I used to be earlier than, in order that complete video I’ve on being semi-retired, I assume I’m not.”

Cain final labored at Obsidian as a full-time worker on Pillars of Eternity and The Outer Worlds. He then moved to being a contractor, contributing to The Outer Worlds 2. Obsidian has but to announce its subsequent challenge. Final month, Obsidian builders stated they have been effectively conscious that each time the studio declares a new recreation, individuals ask the place Fallout: New Vegas 2 is, however in addition they love how they’ve been in a position to create new IP and even launch sequels to them.

Fallout Season 2 is about to hit Prime Video this December, and whereas Bethesda has a new Fallout: New Vegas bundle up its sleeve, there’s no phrase but on a Fallout remaster or a Fallout: New Vegas 2 to capitalize on the surge of curiosity in the franchise. Obsidian is of course the developer of the much-loved 2010 RPG Fallout: New Vegas, so followers usually ponder whether it should return to the setting for a sequel, particularly given it’s now owned by Bethesda father or mother firm Microsoft.

Obsidian, although, has targeted on making model new video games, and it’s prolific in doing so. It’s launched Grounded (Grounded 2 got here out this 12 months), fantasy RPG Avowed (which got here out this 12 months), and sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds (The Outer Worlds 2 got here out this 12 months). Pentiment, which got here out final 12 months, was one other model new recreation, though I wouldn’t count on a sequel to that any time quickly.

Final month, the Fallout 3 remaster that leaked again in 2023 was stated to be nonetheless in the works. In response to Bethesda growth chief Todd Howard’s latest interview with GQ, through which he talked about The Elder Scrolls 6 nonetheless being a way off and “another issues we’re doing” in the Fallout franchise, VGC reported that a remaster of Fallout 3 alongside the similar traces as this 12 months’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is amongst them.

There are all kinds of rumors floating round about potential Fallout remakes, and definitely a rising expectation amongst followers that Bethesda will flip to its older Fallout video video games to preserve followers on-side whereas they look ahead to The Elder Scrolls 6.
