Actor Idris Elba is knighted in the New Year Honours. The 53-year previous Hollywood star from Hackney, London can now formally be known as Sir Idris.
Sir Idris, who rose to prominence for enjoying Stringer Bell in HBO collection The Wire and DCI John Luther in BBC collection Luther, extra lately performed the British Prime Minister and the President of america, in Heads of State and A Home of Dynamite respectively, each of which got here out in 2025.
