Empyreal by Silent Video games was topped Best Indie Game Made in The North on the Game Republic Awards final night time.
The ceremony, which occurred at WX Wakefield in Yorkshire, was attended by greater than 500 video games trade representatives, and was hosted by Game Republic MD Jamie Sefton. The Best Indie Game Made in The North class was judged by a public vote and featured 15 nominees, together with The Siege and the Sandfox by Cardboard Sword and Starship Troopers Continuum by XR Video games.
The remaining classes have been judged by Guardian video games journalist Keith Stuart, who was unable to attend the present in individual, however offered a recorded introduction that kicked off the proceedings.
Ian Stewart, founding father of the Sheffield-based developer Gremlin Graphics, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Gremlin was shaped in 1984 and have become well-known for titles like Zool and Premier Supervisor, however was purchased by Infogrames in 1999 and closed in 2003.
Along with the awards ceremony, greater than 60 video games have been showcased from northern video games corporations, together with ten from Scotland via a partnership between Game Republic and the Scottish Game Builders Affiliation.
