An unannounced Halo Battle Royale was reportedly cancelled, based on XboxEra co-founder Shpeshal_Nick.
Talking on the XboxEra Podcast, and as reported by Eurogamer, Shpeshal_Nick mentioned the Halo battle royale was no-longer in improvement. IGN has requested Microsoft for remark.
Phrase of the Halo battle royale has popped up every now and then ever since Halo Infinite got here out in 2021. Codenamed Tatanka, the battle royale mode was reportedly in improvement at assist studio Sure Affinity, though neither Microsoft nor Halo developer 343 has ever commented publicly on it.
In a September 2022 interview with VentureBeat, Sure Affinity president and COO Paul Sams teased a big Halo challenge that match the battle royale invoice.

However we’ve not seen or heard of a Halo battle royale since. A 12 months in the past, in January 2023, Bloomberg reported that Tatanka may need advanced from a battle royale “in numerous instructions”.
All this comes at an unsure time for the Halo franchise following the disappointing efficiency of Halo Infinite. Bloomberg reported Halo developer 343 had pivoted to Epic’s Unreal Engine for future video games within the collection. It has but to disclose the way forward for the collection. In the meantime, Season 2 of the divisive Halo TV present kicks off on February 8 on Paramount+.
As for Sure Affinity, it’s engaged on an unique first-person shooter challenge of its personal, codenamed Undertaking Loro.
