Double Fine Honor’s Heavy Metal Legend Ozzy Osbourne by Making Heavy Metal Video Game Brütal Legend Free for 666 Minutes Only

Double Fine Productions has made heavy steel online game Brütal Legend free for 666 minutes solely to honor heavy steel legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died this week aged 76.

The Black Sabbath frontman handed away on July 22 just some weeks after he carried out on the Again to the Starting farewell live performance.

Osbourne voiced the character The Guardian of Metal in Brütal Legend. The character’s look and character was based mostly on Osbourne himself.

In a post on social media, the Microsoft-owned Double Fine mentioned it had made Brütal Legend free on Itch.io. “However this unbelievable deal will solely final for 666 minutes, because the prophecy foretold,” the studio continued. “So get your self clicking, earlier than it disappears like a demon within the evening…”

Brütal Legend is Double Fine’s 2009 heavy metal-themed motion journey real-time technique hybrid, which stars Jack Black as roadie Eddie Riggs. Brütal Legend was printed by EA after Activision dropped the sport, and Double Fine and Activision ended up in a authorized battle over the publishing points.

Ozzy Osbourne starred within the sport itself alongside fellow steel icons Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, and Lita Ford. Double Fine boss Tim Schafer chosen over 100 steel songs to be included within the sport.

Double Fine, which is busy growing Keeper for PC and Xbox, introduced the deal at 4pm PT, which suggests it ends at 3am on Thursday, July 24.
