Developer Echofall Video games has introduced Deepward, a high-speed first-person shooter roguelite set in the Nineteen Twenties that allows you to select three distinct heroes from a roster of six, switching between any of the three of them on the fly throughout the brutal melee and gun-based motion. It is in growth for PC and doesn’t but have a launch window. Watch the reveal trailer above.
The setup is described as follows: “What begins in a cursed, god-forsaken place sinks into stranger depths under. Discover gothic interiors, caves, prisons, ritual areas, and unimaginable locations as the reality buried beneath begins to floor.” In the meantime, your roster of six heroes will every convey distinctive weapons, talents, playstyles, and backstories to the desk. Dying is everlasting on every descent into the depths, and to outlive you may must “shoot, kick, slash, and improvise by means of close-range encounters in opposition to relentless horrors. Fast reactions, correct pictures, and violent affect preserve each combat shifting as rooms fill with enemies and the strain begins to overwhelm your squad.”
Deepward’s fight is described as “gore-heavy.” If it sounds up your alley, you may wishlist it on Steam.
